Lewis obviously loves knots and knot work, but his book Great Knots and How To Tie Them could have used much better illustrations for the knots selected. The hand-drawn illustrations often don't provide enough detail to help you tie the knots. You often end up trying several variations and then comparing your results to the photographs of the completed knots. Lewis does include multiple names for the knots he selected, a practice I wish other knot books would employ. Although you can find just about every knot you might need in Great Knots, you will probably want a guide with better instructions.
