Elmo loses his blanket down Oscar's trash can. When Elmo goes into the can to retrieve the blanket, he gets swept into Grouchland. In Grouchland, the selfish Huxley (Mandy Patinkin) takes everything for himself, including Elmo's blanket. Elmo goes on a quest to reclaim his blanket.
My two year old loved it, my eight year old liked it, the rest of my family tolerated it. Patinkin's performance provided, for me, the only real entertainment in the show. The songs seemed more contrived than usual for a Muppet movie. Noticeably missing: Kermit, Piggy, and Fozzy.
